This product is a widely used primary accelerator from the Thiazoles category, which enables curing at high temperatures and is used for a wide range of rubber products. These materials are activated by zinc oxide and stearic acid. To increase the cooking speed, they are combined with secondary accelerators such as DOTG and DPG.
MBTS is soluble in benzene, chloroform, and ethanol, but not in water or gasoline. MBTS has a high curing temperature and a medium curing speed. MBTS increases the wear resistance of the polymer. Compared to MBT, MBTS improves the burn safety of the final product.
MBTS accelerator is used as a delayed activator and softener in polychloroprene. MBTS is often used in the curing process of tires, particularly NR and SR.
