Dioctyl phthalate is a common plasticizer that is widely used in various industries. This oil is one of the most important lubricants used to improve the stiffness and flexibility of plastic parts, including PVC, and rubber parts, including NBR.

DOP oil is a transparent liquid with hardly any odor. It’s one of the most crucial lubricants used to increase stiffness and flexibility.

Product Applications:

DOP is one of many plasticizers that are used to increase the flexibility of elastomers. You can expect a boost in flexibility, a decrease in the glass transition temperature, a reduction in crystallization, and a reduction in compounds cost after applying this oil to tires. DOP oil is used in the manufacturing of rubber in the following ways.

DOP oil in NBR shortens the mixing time although EPDM is typically synthesized without the use of a plasticizer, DOP can be added for certain application such as rectifying difficulties with pressure sensitive strips.

DOP decreases mixing time, increases elasticity, and improves adhesive performance in polybutadiene (BR). This oil can be added to polyisoprene (IR) to modify the rheology during the process.
